“Ad”-mitting Frustration

Apparently there are ads popping up at the bottom of my posts these days.  I am so sorry if this is indeed the case when you come here to read.

I am going to try and figure out a way to put a stop to this, but if any of you have an idea as to why it is happening or how to stop it, I would love to hear from you!

Thanks for continuing to read even if you’ve had to deal with some ads!  And thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have!

      • 😀 I haven’t been here much, I confess. Haven’t read others’ blogs nearly enough lately. I hope to do better. I have to find a way to organize my time though. Organization is not a good area for me. Well…when I had desk jobs I was so organized that people would make fun of me…before I left I had to have everything just so on my desk…stapler pointing just the right direction, etc. LOL But in general, I’m not so good at it, especially where time organization is concerned.

Anyway…babbling once again. Sorry. LOL Point: I hope to make more time to sit and read blogs.

        • Life gets busy to say the least. I can totally identify with a lack or organization! I’m thankful for any visit you are able to make over here, but completely understand the busy-ness of life 🙂

  5. I don’t think ads are on your posts. I had a friend tell me they were on my posts, and it turned out they were on the email notification. I am fairly certain there is literally no way ads can appear on your blog without your knowledge or consent.

  7. This is what I think, New View, from my own experience and investigation. WordPress users do not get the ads. Your non WordPress followers will, on random posts at random times. I didn’t think much of it until my mother called me and informed me that I might not like the nature of some of the ads that were inserted into my posts (think: scantily clad women selling cars, or whatever.) I remember when I was setting up my blog that there was a box stating that WordPress would post random ads, and I’d need to pay THEM to keep ads off. I mentioned that to my mom, and she said, “Pay it. It’s worth it.” So I did, and I think it’s $30.00 for a year. I found it in the WP support section–maybe under appearance?? I’m sorry I can’t tell you exactly where I found it, but I couldn’t give you directions to any given building in downtown Atlanta, either. 😉

    • Wow, good info, Robin! I shudder to think of the type of ads WP could add to my blog considering my content….

And New View, I have been away for far too long. Then, life has been tough (or just seems that way sometimes). I have barely been able to finish a story of my own. But this is one of the 1st places I plan to go when I can sit & breathe and listen. 🙂

      • Yeah, you’ve been missed! I assumed life was just really busy between your hubby and the children…in fact I just lifted up a prayer for your husband and I hope he’s feeling much better. I’m honored that you will come back to read some more, and I look forward to more of your posts whenever you get a chance 🙂

      • Hey! Thank you and you’re welcome. 🙂 The thing about the ads is that you have absolutely no control over what they are or what posts they show up in or where in your post they go. (Mine showed up in between my post and the comments section.) It’s all totally random.

    • Robin that is GREAT info! I will definitely check into that. LOL at your last sentence….I’m rather leery of venturing into any part of Atlanta! Thanks for letting me know I shouldn’t call you for directions next time I’m there! 🙂

  8. Oh man, I know exactly what you mean. I started noticing the same thing on my blogs, too. I think its happening to me becasue I’m using their “free” version of wordpress account. I think the only way to get rid of ads is to get your private wordpress account.

I suppose if you have a lot of traffic WordPress will sneak a couple of ads in to help pay the light bill. I haven’t seen any on my desktop, but they do show up on my mobile.

  10. I had not noticed an on either yours or mine, but I did note in my stats the other day that someone apparently clicked on an ad on one of my posts. If I find out how those are being generated and how to make them go away, I will let you know.

Yah, I’m pretty sure you can have the option of paying a yearly fee to keep ads off your Blog. I’m not going to bother. I’ve seen a few smallish square ads occassionally as I’ve Blog-surfed around WordPress, and I’m a WordPress Blogger, so I think anyone can see them. They’re randomly placed though, I think. Although they’ve always been between the post and the comments, that I’ve seen. Like Robin Jean Marie said already here.
Anyway, I’m diving into your Blog now that I’ve finished reading Chris9911’s. 🙂 He recommended your Blog to me, based ont he uality of your “About” page, of course! hahaha! He loves it so Much!!
Looking forward to hearing whatever you have to say.
    Rach.
